Rajma Chawal Recipe
Rajma Chawal Recipe is a popular North Indian dish that consists of red kidney bean( rajma) cooked in a spicy tomato- grounded sauce and served with fumed rice( chawal). The dish is frequently enjoyed as a main course for lunch or dinner and is known for its hearty, comforting flavor and texture.
Instruction To Cook Rajma Chawal:
- Soak the rajma overnight in enough water. Drain and wash.
- Boil the rajma in 3 mugs of water in a pressure cooker for 15- 20 whistles or until soft.
- In a separate bowl, heat oil and add cumin seeds.
- When they crinkle, add diced onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Add diced garlic and ginger, and saute for a minute. Add diced tomatoes and green chilies, cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt, and cook for a minute.
- Add the cooked rajma along with its water to the bowl and let it poach for 10 whistles.
- Serve hot with rice and trim with fresh cilantro. Enjoy!
